Jared Leto, a well-payed actor, has been spending, since a couple of years, a lot of time in the famous band Thirty Seconds To Mars. He started the band in 1998 with his brother Shannon and two friends. De band really made a statement in 2007 with an epic rock songs and ditto video clips. At the end of November, the band posted their new video clip of Kings & Queens on their MySpace, another magnificent song with one of the most amazing video clips. A lot of people were afraid that the band would make the album, This is War, that epic that is would go over the top and in that way, loose his power and greatness. Unfortunately, that fear was a little deservedly. The first track on the album is Escape, this song has a slow beginning but shortly after the beginning it begins. One of the most surprising songs ever! Thirty Seconds To Mars uses a whole amount of people what gives the song an extra touch. Night Of The Hunter has more the electro-pop thing about it, this obviously isn’t their best song ever. The genre hasn’t the touch of 35 Seconds To Mars. Their best songs are the songs that have a typical sound and touch of the band. For example Kings & Queens and The Summit, remind us of the more elder hits like From Yesterday and Beautiful Lie. An old recipe which works, but some people just don’t like them anymore because of their monotony. The album: This Is War has some songs that are so strong and penetrating, but other songs just don’t succeed to donate that epic feeling, the necessary epic feeling. The closing song, Stranger In A Strange Land, radiates an alienating, maybe the song is a little overdone because of the full energy the band donates. The song even gets a little boring after a while. Even though some of the songs aren’t ones of the greatest, the album is definitely worth buying. The phenomenal songs are surely paired with videos that are more short movies than video clips. One way or another, this album is enjoyable both audio- and video-wise. The concert that was given on November 30th, was one of the most memorable concerts ever! Jared interacts with the crowd, he talks to them, lives with them, feels their emotions. He doesn’t call them fans, he calls them family. If you ever get the chance to be at one of their concerts, GO! It’s worth it.
